Skyward InFlight allows for the creation of new operations, or the editing of existing operations that were defined either in the mobile app, or in the web application at app.skyward.io. This article will explore those features and ensure that users are able to successfully navigate operational details while in the field.
Creating New Operations
There are two ways to create a new operation, from the Home page you can click the blue plus sign in the upper-right hand corner or tap on the Map option at the bottom navigation panel.
A new operation window will open. To set an area of operation, tap on the map.
A new window will open and the map will automatically place you in your current location. From here you can use the map to navigate to the location you want to fly. Once there, you can select from a circle or polygon shape on the left hand side. You can then draw your area of operation. Once complete, tap Done in the upper-right hand corner.
After tapping Done, you'll be brought back to the operation details window and the area of operation you created will display on the map.
Next give your operation a name and fill out the operation start and end date and times.
After that tap on the Pilot in Command field to change the pilot for the operation. The person who is currently logged in will automatically be selected by default. Once the Pilot window opens, select a pilot and then tap the arrow in the upper-left hand corner.
Next tap on the Crew section to add any crew members to the operation. Then select the crew members to be added to the operation. Once all crew members have been added, tap on the arrow in the upper-left hand corner.
Finally tap on the aircraft section to add the aircraft to the operation. Select the aircraft being used and then tap on the arrow in the upper-left hand corner.
Now all your information has been added to the operation. To save the operation details, tap Save in the upper-right corner.
You will then be brought back to the Home page and should see your new operation under the date it was planned for.
To edit an operation, go to the Home page and click on the operation you want to edit.
The operation details window will open. To edit the operation details, tap on Edit in the upper-right hand corner.
You can now edit the operation details and can tap Save to save your changes and be returned back to the operation details page.
