For users of both DJI and Skyward, the sync feature is a big time-saver that prevents having to add data in more than one place. Once you connect your DJI GCS app and Skyward account, Skyward will pull in new flight logs every 30 minutes.
Currently Skyward has some issues with retrieving battery data on older DJI aircraft because the logfile for certain DJI airframes represents battery data in a different way than other airframes. This results in missing serial number and battery voltage information. This occurs for the following airframes:
- Phantom 3
- Inspire 2
- Mavic Pro
- Mavic Air
- M210
Even if you manually select a battery at flight log import, the flight log visualization page will not display battery information.
Note: Some pilots may want to create a DJI account just for the flights that will be logged in Skyward, for example, if you want to keep recreational or training flights separate from those you fly for work.
To connect your DJI account:
- First, ensure you have manually synced your flights from the DJI GCS app to the DJI Cloud.
- Sign in to Skyward.
- At the top right of your Skyward screen, click your name and then Settings.
- On the Settings page, click the tab labeled “Integrations.”
- On the Integrations tab, click the button labeled “Connect.”
- Select your organization.
- Enter your DJI username and password.
- Click the “Connect” button.
- Now you’ll see your integration with your username.
The Integrations page shows the organization to which you have connected any DJI accounts. The number in green shows how many flights were synced last. It also displays the total flights that Skyward has pulled from your DJI account.
Once your flights are synced over from the DJI cloud, you'll be able to find them in the Flights tab, where the telemetries can be viewed, and they can be attached to operations.
Moving synced flights into an operation
Now that the flights are synced over from the DJI Cloud, all that's left to do is to attach them to an operation in Skyward, if applicable. To do this, select the Flights tab from the header menu.
From Flights, you'll see a list of your flights down the right-hand side of the screen, and the operation that they're attached to. Those that aren't attached to an operation will appear as No Operation.
To attach these flights to an Operation, select the Move button just above the list of flights. Once that's been selected, a series of checkboxes will appear next to each flight, and you can select all flights that correspond to a specific operation. Once that's done, select Move again:
Once you select Move, you'll see the list of operations from inside your organization. Select the appropriate operation, and then the flights will be attached successfully.
You can also add the flights to a brand new operation by scrolling to the bottom of the list and selecting Move to a new operation.
